You’ve got to love a phone that combines all your favourite features into one cool, sleek, touchscreen-enabled interface, don’t you?
As has been pointed out all over the web and all over the world, the iPhone’s finally a reality. Well, not everyone’s as keen on the iPhone as Steve Jobs.
Digital rights management-related issues have probably topped the list of complaints about the iPhone. But this is not really news to anyone with an iPod — Apple doesn’t veer much from the four major music labels’ pro-DRM stance on downloading music.
Apple also doesn’t have any interest in opening the iPhone up to third-party developers. It is hard to argue against this philosophy however, since it certainly has worked miracles for Apple so far.
The other oft-mentioned criticism is the fact that is will only operate on Cingular’s network — but one can’t help but wonder how long that will actually be the case.
My personal beef with the iPhone? Browsing through the tech specs, the 2.0 megapixel camera is the feature that really stands out in my mind. And not in a good way.
It’s too bad that what is really such a gorgeous piece of technology is limited to such a mediocre camera. I’ve had a 2.0 megapixel camera on my Nokia 6265i for a while now, and was hoping that something brand new like the iPhone would have moved past the 2.0 megapixel stage.
Maybe I’ll just have to go pick myself up the Nokia N95 after all.
