Firefox has many great extensions that can save you a great deal of time or improve your browsing experience. I’ll talk about some of my favorites and give you some links to best lists of extensions out there.
If you’re still not using Firefox, I would highly suggest installing it now. It’s fun to customize, and it’s free.
Also, if you’re not familiar with what extensions are, they “are small add-ons that add new functionality to Firefox, from a simple toolbar button to a completely new feature. They allow you to customize Firefox to fit your own needs and preferences, while letting us keep Firefox itself light and lean” (from the Firefox site).
Just don’t load every possible extension into Firefox at once.
First off, here’s a massive list of extensions that can give you an idea of what extensions people are finding useful.
Wired also came out with their own list of the best extensions for Firefox a while back — it’s a bit dated (they’re referring to Firefox 1.5, whereas the newest version is 2.0) but still useful.
I still have to say my all-time favorite is Forecastfox. OK, so maybe I’m just a bit obsessed with the weather.
Translator is another extension I would highly suggest. While it won’t give you a completely accurate translation of a web page, it will certainly give you enought to get the gist of what the page is about.
If you have a website, the Google Toolbar for Firefox can also allow you to quickly identify the PageRank of a sites you are visiting, letting you know how popular they are. This can help you determine how much sense it makes to trackback to the site in question.
Here’s another post on Renie’s blog about Firefox extensions to give you an idea of what extensions someone else can’t live without. If you have an extension you think is great, leave a comment and let me know.

So I did come back to check… Great work.
My favorite extension is the minimize2tray though, for thunderbird… I found it annoying that I can’t get rid of it from the bar after I minimize it.
I recently found this free software 4t Tray Minimizer which I absolutely love, it can minimize and even hide anything in the bar and system tray and it is good at work to hide the chatting window …
Keep up the good work, well done. I will check back often.

Google Reader notifier, Gmail Notifier, IETab, and Paste and Go are a must-have for me
