The great links on Guy Kawasaki’s blog are almost too many to keep up with.

In a post yesterday, Guy posted a link to a periodic table of visualization methods, as well as a very interesting mind map of his latest book, The Art of the Start.

I’m pretty sure that the mind map is done using FreeMind, a free open-source mind-mapping software tool.

Here’s some light reading in case you’d like to get more familiar with what a mind map is. Mind maps are quite useful to plan out complex ideas that might seem overwhelming otherwise.

Thanks for posting this. The mind map looks really good, but I think it was made with NovaMind. FreeMind is nice, but not that nice ;)

No, it’s an Mindjet MindManager Mindmap – you can see that from the file name in the footer. *.mmap are MindManager mindmaps. :-)

    Cheers,

Thanks for pointing that out — it seems open source software does have the limitation of being a step behind sometimes (OpenOffice and MS Office for example).

I’ve still been looking around for mind mapping software that would automatically translate the mind map into some pretty interconnected nodes in Flash. So far I haven’t come across anything, but I’m certainly open to suggestions (if such a thing exists).
