Angela tagged me to let my readers know 8 random facts about myself. Believe it or not, this is harder than it seems. Here goes:

1. I’m gadget-obsessed — anything electronic usually sucks up a huge amount of my time (and money). Nintendo Wii’s the obsession du jour.

2. I love plants. I have a ton of plants around my home — and I’m always looking to get more. I usually go for cacti, since while I may love plants, I’m chronically forgetful (so they may have to go without water for a long time).

3. I’ve always wanted to go to South America, but I’ve never been there. I guess it’s never too late though.

4. I’m scared of heights. I’ve never really liked them, but the older I get, the less I seem to enjoy being anywhere but on the ground (yes, this includes flying). Not sure why that is.

5. I majored in English literature in my undergrad degree, and always thought I’d have a job that involved writing or editing something (even though I did some professional editing and found it really, really boring — sorry to anyone that’s a professional editor).

6. I like to cook (which stems from both my love of eating and having control over projects). I make an especially mean chili.

7. I’ve only had one job where I was too far to walk to work. I’ve never owned a car, enjoy walking , and don’t really like taking public transit (I’d rather be chilly on my walk to work than stuck in a subway car). Hence the walking.

8. My favourite book is Foucault’s Pendulum by Umberto Eco. Fascinating read — if you’re ever looking for something incredibly complex (I fully admit I only understand a small portion of the references in the book) and very different to read, check it out, it’s well worth it.
